Experience shows that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) make better transitions from the family home when a person-centered future plan is in place. But what is a future plan?
The concept of future planning and what it entails is still not widely understood by many families and human services professionals.
Join The Arc’s Center for Future Planning for a three-part, live, online training series that will be offered this September. In part 1 of our training series, we will review the basics of future planning. Part 2 will cover how to build a plan and future planning materials that can be used when assisting families. During part 3 we will review helpful strategies to ensure families follow through with completing and updating their future plan. Participants who attend all three training sessions will receive a certificate of completion.
Sessions will take place Tuesday, September 10, 2019, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 and Tuesday, September 24, 2019
