State Assembly Committee Hearing on Interactions Between Law Enforcement and People With Disabilities

This Tuesday, April 10th, the California State Assembly’s Select Committee on Community and Law Enforcement Relations and Responsibilities will conduct an informational hearing to assess current practices and opportunities for improvement between interactions between law enforcement and people with disabilities.

This important hearing will provide the Legislature with an overview of policies other state’s have adopted, current programs at use in California, and the balance between safety and independence that must be achieved. The Arc California and The Arc Ventura will be key presenters, along with United Domestic Workers (UDW), Disability Rights California, and various law enforcement representatives from around the state.

The hearing will be Tuesday, April 10th, 10 AM – 12 Noon in State Capitol, Room 127. To view the agenda click here. Public comments will be heard at the end of the hearing.
