Regional Center Clients & Families – Give Comment on Proposed Rates

Senior and Disability Justice Act

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) has scheduled a series of seven public meetings for regional center consumers and families to hear comments on the regional center provider rate study and related issues.

The first meeting is scheduled for March 18th, Monday, in San Diego, followed by March 19th (Tuesday) in San Bernardino County (Corona); March 20th (Wednesday) in South Central Los Angeles; March 22nd (Friday) in Santa Barbara; March 23rd (Saturday) in Fresno, and wrapping up with two meetings on March 24th (Sunday) in Sacramento in the morning and San Francisco in the afternoon.

This series of local meetings or “briefings” for regional center consumers (meaning individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who receive services or are eligible to receive services) and their families, follows a consumer and family online survey conducted by the Department of Developmental Services’ rate study sub-contractor – HSRI (Human Services Research Institute) – during the month of October last fall. More than 1,700 responses were received in the voluntary online survey that asked questions related to the issues connected to the regional center provider rate study.
