FINAL COUNTDOWN TO BUDGET BILL Your Advocacy Needed

The California Capitol building

The California Legislature must pass a budget bill and send it to Governor Brown by June 15th. These next few days will include the final negotiations to determine where our state places priorities, and the disability community must make its voice heard right now. Twitter is one of the best tools to get our message heard at this time.

Billions of $ in surplus yet CA’s developmental disability community has to fight for minimum wage rates and to restore 2009 cuts. Please include bridge funding, social recreation & camp, and reject furlough days in the final #cabudget. #KeepThePromise @JerryBrownGov @AsmPhilTing @HollyJMitchell @Rendon63rd @SenToniAtkins @drarambulaAD31 https://bit.ly/2HIar73

At stake is the unding of critical community based services, including services heavily impacted by local minimum wages that are higher than the state minimum wage, social recreation, and camp. We must act now.
