Californians with developmental disabilities in the Los Angeles area have been directly impacted by the wildfires. Many residential groups homes and assisted living facilities have been destroyed, displacing its residents and their support staff. Programs have been forced to close while staff and families impacted by the devastating fires deal with unimaginable crisis.
People in the disability community are suffering great loss in the wake of this unexpected tragedy, and it will take an undetermined amount of time to recover.
At this time, we are asking our community across the state to support the fire victims of Los Angeles.
