Advocates Record Messages in Support of Funding to End Disability Workforce Crisis

Several disability advocates recorded messages to Governor Newsom and our legislators about the importance and critical need for additional direct support professionals and regional center care coordinators. In their own words, they urge the Governor to adopt The Lanterman Coalition’s funding proposals in the final 2022-23 budget that would address the acute disability workforce crisis, and reduce regional center caseload rations so people with developmental disabilities can get adequate, individualized supports and services.

Jennifer and her son Tyler are just one of many advocates who shared their about how the disability system staffing shortage impacts their lives.

In these next few days before the Governor releases his final budget for 2022-23, lets make do whatever we can to let them know how important it is to accelerate funding in this year’s budget that will address the workforce crisis NOW! It can’t wait.
