New Report on Addressing Access, Inclusion and Functional Needs at the State’s Mass Vaccination Sites

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) has released a new comprehensive report: Inclusive Planning Blueprint for Addressing Access and Functional Needs at Mass Testing/Vaccination Sites. The report was created in partnership with community stakeholders including Jordan Lindsey, Executive Director of The Arc of California.

The “Blueprint” serves to highlight inclusive community planning and lessons learned for access and functional needs following the state’s COVID-19 mass vaccination project in Spring 2021. It can be used by all jurisdictions to integrate inclusive practices into their mass testing or vaccination plans at the state, regional, tribal, territorial, or local levels.

Cal OES’ role of planning and setting up these vaccination sites gave guidance and improvement to all facets of the vaccination process, including simplifying eligibility, standardizing information and data, and addressing available supply by streamlining the process.
