Major Wins for Californians with Disabilities in the 2025 Legislative Session

The 2025 legislative session brought big victories for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. Every bill supported by The Arc & UCP California Collaboration that reached Governor Newsom’s desk was signed into law — none were vetoed.

From expanding access to dental care through AB 341 (Arambula) to protecting students with disabilities under AB 1230 (Bonta) and removing unnecessary re-diagnosis requirements for behavioral health coverage under AB 951 (Ta), these new laws will make a real difference in the lives of Californians with disabilities.
